Ashley Stephens, Assistant Principal
Howdy!
It is such an honor to serve the students, staff, and community at AMCMS as assistant principal. My educational background includes obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Education at Ball State University in my home state of Indiana with minors in Reading and Spanish. I earned my master’s degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies at University of Texas Arlington with my principal certification in 2021. My educational journey began as a classroom teacher in Aldine ISD in Houston where I had the privilege of supporting systems that created a turnaround school. For three years I was an instructional coach and after that was serving as a district Literacy Instructional Specialist in Spring Branch ISD in Houston. All of these previous roles have empowered me to value social-emotional learning, be curriculum-minded, and a data-centered leader. When I am not living out my passion at work, I am working out with my husband, serving at our church, exploring local hidden gems, and spending time outdoors.
My core values are connectedness, communication, and collaboration. Connectedness - I embody the belief that every person deserves to be seen, valued and cared for. Communication - I uphold the concept that being clear is the kindest thing we can do. Collaboration - we are always better together. My biggest goal is to empower all people, especially students, to live out of their fullest potential.
At the end of the day, my role is to do what is best for all students in regards to safety and academics. I am grateful to be on this journey with you because we cannot do it without you. To serve the AMCMS students, staff and community is such a high honor.
Mrs. Ashley Stephens, M.Ed.
