Alex Cockrell, Counselor

Hi there! Growing up I knew my purpose was to help people, specifically adolescents, navigate this crazy thing called life. However, I was too scared to commit to a life of counseling so I started my journey as a JH Science teacher at Snook ISD after graduating from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Three years in, I challenged myself to follow my dream and pursued a master’s degree in School Counseling from Sam Houston State University. I was able to serve as the Counselor in Snook for the last three years of working there solely as mental health support before obtaining a position in CSISD in 2021 where I started as the half-time counselor for the campuses of Oakwood and AMCMS. In 2022, I became the full-time counselor here at AMCMS. I truly enjoy working with junior high students and look forward to helping support your child through their two years here in Bobcat Country.
