Title I
AMCMS was designated as a Title I school in the fall of 2024.
What does it mean to be a Title I school?
Being a Title I school means receiving federal funding (Title I dollars) to supplement the school’s existing programs. These dollars are used to:
- Identify students experiencing academic difficulties and providing timely assistance to help students meet the State’s challenging content standards
- Purchase supplemental staff/programs/materials/
- Conduct parent and family engagement meetings, trainings, and activities
How does a school become Title I?
College Station ISD focused its Title I funds for this school year at the elementary, intermediate, and middle school campuses that had 45% or higher of students who qualified for the Free and Reduced Price Lunch Program.
AMCMS had 42% of our students (on average) qualify for the free or reduced price lunch program during the 23-24 school year.
What does this mean for our school?
Additional funds to support students, teachers, and families over and above what the district provides!
Title I funds are concentrated in instruction for students, professional development for our teachers, and in activities to strengthen our partnerships with our parents and families
